JodyRagnarr Delvers

The opening game saw the Delvers face off against the Asterian newcomers the Yun-Yuuzhan Warriors.  The game consisted of the Delvers surprisingly nimble pushing forward with repeated attempts to score but pre-season training still a vivid memory the Dwarven team were clearly rusty with the Delvers missing 4 potential strikes through the game.  But they opened the score in the 3rd Rush with a 2 pointer by club favourite Thorgan Ironsword.  The Warriors battled back eating into the score with a point strike from Viull Gorset.

The Warriors employed some dirty tricks to get the Dwarven ranks thinned via the sin bin and this, couple with their misses, enabled the Warriors to take the lead and win the game by 3-0.

Both teams looked leggy with pre-season clearly playing a factor.

Atletico Tronkers took to the field against the Brokkrs and are hoping for a good season.  Thunder Brokkr coach Gorim Ironbeard is under intense pressure after receiving the dreaded 'backing from the board' and must be worried about his future.

The Tronkers showed a less skillful show of their game tonight with the team clearly going after Thunder Brokkr's MVP Jettari and even got a player sent off for repeated stomping.

Steve 'Dreamboy' Lazer was back on form scoring an opening two strike in Rush 9 and again with a 4 point strike in Rush 11 after Thunder Brokkr Hagnur Icebreaker tried to pull back the deficit with a 1 point strike.

The Tronkers look fired up once more and Dreamboy is off to a roaring start.

Philosphers

The enigmatic newcomers The Philosophers took to the pitch against the Thunder Brokkrs as the Dwarven heady opening games reach the climax.  The Philosophers employed a very tactical, patient game, manoeuvring the Dwarven team around telepathically much to the annoyance of Gorim Ironbear who received chants of 'your getting sacked in the morning' from both sets of fans.

Heidegger for The Philosophers opened the scoring in Rush 1 with a 2 point score, but the Brokkrs responded with a 1 point score immediately after in Rush 2, with Sangrar Hornblade trying to save his coach's career.  But the Brokkrs were unable to get up the pitch and were literally being pushed around all over the place.  The Philosophers number 2 Kant, scored a 2 point strike in Rush 5.  The Brokkrs broke through on Rush 8 to score another 2 points by the Icebreaker but they couldn't get any further forward and the Brokkrs left the pitch angry and their coach Ironbear looked worried to say the least.
