Description

A cyberpunk themed strategy game set in the same 'universe' as Coup, players take the role of underground crime bosses.  Each player accumulates cards of different 'criminal types' who have abilities that allow the player to increase their cash, their hand of cards or by playing teams of criminals to complete job cards.  When all jobs are completed or when all the money is gone from the bank, then the game ends and the player with the most ISK credits wins.

The unique play style centres around the board, each hand a single card or team is played into the 'night 1' slot, after each successive turn the cards move along to night 2, night 3 and finally the refresh area where they are put back into the player's hand.  This gives a planning and strategy to what cards to play and when, depending on your long term strategy.

What We Think

Jody: One of our earliest purchases Grifters is a good strategy card game without the faffing around of deckbuilding.  I love the cyberpunk/neo-noir setting and the game, while simple, has a lot of depth, particularly in the latter phases with certain cards to tip the balance of play.
