AR: “I’m here at the
Von Braun Arena home of Clan Rapidclaw who have once again been defeated but
for a while it looked like they might get their first victory. The home fans have not taken kindly to the
Real Tronkers thrashing them 7-0 and there is pandemonium as the Veer’Myn have set
upon the Real Tronkers fans and ripping them apart. There’s body parts flying everywhere and it’s
a real mess. Is that a leg…..don’t mind
if I do…”
JW: Well Mike here we
are once again with In The Zone and that was our roving reporter An’aka Rez’nik
after the Real Tronkers turned over Clan Rapidclaw after being hammered for
most of the game by the Veer’Myn offensive guards. It’s been a crazy week hasn’t it?
MS: Hey Jim, it sure
has. I mean we knew Rapidclaw were at
the bottom of the division but who thought they’d have come out with a new pair
this week with try and bully the Tronkers.
They slapped them left and right and up and down. It was carnage, the Tronkers had three, three
players on the pitch at one point.
JW: So what was the
problem in the end?
MS: Well Jim it’s
simple, the Veer’myn just weren’t technical enough and they put more guards on
leaving the Tronkers faster and more mobile.
It was a bold move by Rapidclaw, they needed to try something new, they
did and it nearly worked. But to get
turned over 7-0 was a bit harsh, but that’s Dreadball.
JW: I hear that
Mike. We had a strange occurance this week
because in the other Division the other Veer’Myn team played the other Tronkers
team and it was the same score.
MS: But it was a
totally different game, the Atletico Tronkers got their landslide this week
ahead before the game was over, Stormfang have been really strong all season
and nobody knows why but this week they came unstuck.
JW: Could this be when
the wheels come off for Stormfang?
MS: I sure hope not
Jim, it’s been refreshing to have a team that lacks technical skill competing
and challenging. I’d love to see them in
the Dean Cain Memorial Trophy.
JW: The last game
this week was the Kamino Kinietics vs the Mega City Eagles, you were really
looking forward to this one.
MS: You’re right Jim,
the Mega City Eagles are so drilled, so tactically aware, so organised and the Kaminos
are so different from any other team given they don’t have any offensive
capabilities made this mouth watering.
JW: It didn’t
disappoint, it was like watching interstellar pinball.
MS: It was electric, a
real clash of the titans. The Kaminos
are new to this division but they know how to play and normally their strange
striker only ‘6 up front’ tactic just confuses the opposition but this time the
MCEs had done their homework and were ready for them.
JW: The Kamino defeat
destroys their hopes for a title finish.
MS: They’re history
Jim, Real Tronkers have got to win and win big AND hope the Ragnarr Delvers do
them a favour in the final games.
JW: It’s a tall order?
MS: It’s so outside
it’s practically in another dimension Jim.
JW: Well we’ll be back soon with the conclusion of the Western and Eastern
Divisions as we head into the last 3 matches of each division. Thanks Mike.
MS: You’re welcome Jim.
