This hotly anticipated first match up between female and male humans delivered a fascinating conflict
Eagle number 8 Judge Lopez started the match with an early 4 point score right off the bat. This is after the captain Judge Hunter misses an easily slam on her opponent
The Tronkers are asleep at the start
In an effort to get back into the game quickly they charge forward once the new ball is launched. A few slams knocks a handful of Judges, but nothing bad.
In an astonishing turn of events, Judge Alvarez attempts a slam, twice. Brave move for a jack. Nothing comes of it, but the fans go nuts! Still buoyed by the early strike, Eagles striker Judge Kruger runs from deep and attempts another 4 pointer. Could they win the game on a landslide in the opening exchanges? No! She misses!
Sigh of relief from Tronkers coach Harry "Red" Knapp. He knows his team is rocking
They respond with Guard number 2, Rip Harrison, slamming Judge Kruger out to the bench. Retaliation for having the audacity to try and a landslide so quickly. This is the sort of game the fans and sponsored expected from these teams
Both teams exchange blows, until Eagles number 6 attempts a sneaky 2 pointer but misses. Again so close!
The Tronkers finally get on the score sheet after a double slam from the guards opens the back door. Ford "Fox" Storm glides through for an easy 3 points. Perhaps he should have gone for 4!?
Eagles instantly head up the other end, Tronkers AGAIN wide open in defense and Judge Lopez misses another 4 pointer. Dredd is looks on from the sides and is not impressed
The Tronkers pick up the rebound and launch a counter attack. Striker and captain, the legendary Kurt "The King" Kaan gives the Eagles defense the slip to set up a score... and misses! What IS going on today with the strikers? Too much blood on the pitch in the Stadium of Justice?!?
Mega City Eagles fans cheer widly as they pick up yet another loose ball but this time, perhaps under Dredd's steely gaze, they decide to park the bus and pull the ball into the wall to run down the clock. The Real Tronkers, finally finding the aggression that has been missing from the match so far, close in and pin the Eagles in. Taking a handfull out of the game, but only as far as the subs bench.
Judge Kruger, still eager to make up for errors, takes the ball and runs up the pitch. She is chased down by the retreating Tronkers with Kurt Kaan attempting to steal the ball. Kruger fends him off and a defeated Kaan drops to his knees. Fatigued and with time now up, the Tronkers realise the game is up and they have suffered the second defeat this season. The Eagles however, march on.
